Mel Ryan Tommy and Lucy Broome

What a wonderful day, met up with Mel, Sonia's friend, lovely family, made me feel at home, we had coffee, then they took me sightseeing, gorgeous scenery,  Cliff tops, Warf, then back to the beach I drove Athena on, it was fantastic, Ryan  BBQ'd some chicken wings we ate on the beach, we met up with their friends, they were so welcoming. Then Mel and I watched the sun go down, spectacular.,
Ryan BBQ's steak, Mel steamed lots of yummy fresh vegies., Tonight I sleep on the lawn....

Broome day 2

Stayed at the Information Bay, 20ks before Broome, only 3 vans when I pulled in, this morning there was close to 50 LOL, they squeezed in every which way., Italians, French,Germans, Irish and so on., 

Today I  walked through China Town, had the little Aus charm soldered onto my bracelet, Eve at Anastasia's Pearl Gallery, was so helpful, they did it for me in an hour., 😊, Bought another battery for my camera., and another inverter., also had a large milkshake for $7., all money saved while I free camped., I found the Japanese Cemetery, how sobering to walk through, over 900 buried there.

Went looking for the Dinosour fossils at Gantheaume Point, the sign said gravel road, holy crap, I drove right onto the beach, did I shit myself, Motorhomes aren't suppose to do that, but my Athena sailed in wonderfully, I got out as quick as I could.

 Looking for Dinosaur fossils, Athena on the sand at Gantheaume Point, really frightened me, so I did a u turn and came off the sand.

 

 

 

This is a photo I have shared from Nicola Regina's facebook, it's the stairway to the moon,  I know he won't mind, I don't have the courage to go do it myself, I won't drive at night and most probably won't find a camp spot when I get back., Beautiful photo Nicola.

 

 

 

Broome

 

Made it to Broome in an emotional state, couldn't stop the tears, Sam promised he'd bring me here for our 40th Wedding Anniversary, well Sam, I brought you here., 16 days short of this special date. 19/07.

 I've wanted to come here since I was a little girl.

Barn Hill Station

Nicola Teresa and Mirca caught up with me at Stanley rest, I went and  said hi, gave Nicola some Mars Bars, told him to be care full on the road., and good luck.

Barn Hill Station, 10ks of dirt road, off Broome Hwy.,  ($26 unpowered site with water,) had to go through three lots of gates, had to open and shut them, don't want the cows getting out.,

Barn Hill is situated on Thangoo Station a working cattle station. Its approx 430,000 acres stretches 85ks from Pt Hedland to Broome. Property runs 8000 head of Brahman cattle which are marked for live export trade through the Port of Broome. :(

No I didn't shower here, used mine LOL

Showers are cold, if your lucky the black hose is heated by the sun LOL

Stanley Rest Area

 

I new I only stay at the best Free Camps. Sitting minding my own business at this great free camp, when Northbound Travels comes in, the sad thing is these ppl are paying a fortune for something that is free!!!!!

 

Thought I'd be part of the crowd, dinner by candle light with a glass of wine, under the stars. Then I dropped the wine all over me, had to change, they put there generator on, bloody hell, there goes my peace., then they all seem to like Athena, cause they come next to her and speak LOUD ON THERE PHONES... NOT IMPRESSED !!!!!
