Binnaway NSW, was invited to a Solo get together,  met wonderful people, lovely old town, was quite warm, even the locals introduced themselves. Unfortunately, there was no where to have a meal until Friday nite when the bowls club opened up. the pub didn't serve meals because the show was on, go figure.

 

 

Pump house free camp, $2 showers, $2 pwr for 3 hours

Gorgeous Lockie, he belonged to Kieran, has one blue eye for night vision I was told, HAHAHA and one brown, sweet dog layed outside my door keeping me guard all night. He gave me lots of kisses,

 

 

Castlereagh River

Binnaway was a thriving Railway hub in its days, grain, etc...,

one of the two pubs, unfortunately it had closed down, the other pub didn't serve meals because the show was on., making it hard for us to go out to dinner.

Finally went out to dinner at the Bowls club, only on Friday nights, yummy meal, I had big lamb cutlets, so tender, Kieran had a T Bone as big as his plate, it was good honest home cooked tucker best thing was I didn't have to pay, a gentleman did.

Annie, wonderful funny lady is into Butterflies, looks after the environment, takes photo's of Birds also, plants trees.

Went for a drive to the Siding Telescope, at Coonabarabran, fascinating place, biggest in Australia,

Had to laugh, a group of geese walked across the road, had to slow right down to let them cross..... wasn't quick enough to get the camera...

 

There's a yellow light flickering, is it the light to tell me the headlights are on.....????

 

Saw lots of yellow wattle trees, weird its not spring yet?

 

Saw white cockies with yellow crests....

31/7 BJR Memorial Park Tempy Vic

Lovely clean free camp, loo , bbq, seats, playground.  nice safe place to spend my last night.  Neighbours even left there porch light on all night.

30/7 Terrible night very high winds

Terrible night wind blew very strong all night, had to wait for day break before I could move. 7.00am moved on.


slept till 9.00am My head kept saying get off this highway head for Crystal Brooke, the red oil lamp came on, met Darren and Diabala, Darren watched me pour in the oil.

Lake Hart 28/7/2015

 

What a great free camp, so beautiful, a salt lake, met a lovely young backpacker from Italy, landed in Melbourne went over to Hobart, bought himself a Harley, black leathers and now is travelling north, these young people are so courageous, on their own travelling our beautiful country.
